On Friday, Donnie and I took a
drive through the first bitter
snow of November. In Ferryville,
we stopped at the Carr
Valley Cheese store and
bought a chunk of Mammoth Cheddar and another of the Cave Aged Cardona.
The
cheddar is almost parmesan-esque, whereas the Cardona delivers on its
“subtle”
goat flavors – really not overpoweringly goat-y. In Mineral Point,
we walked past
a curious artwork installation in the window of the old |
| 8.13.08 WE
MADE IT! Donnie, Roo, Jackie Chan and I all rolled into Prairie du
Chien, Wisconsin a little over a month ago. So far we have experienced
the wonders of STARKS,
enjoyed a demolition derby at the Crawford county fair, ate a
ton of cheese
curds, drank a lot or regional beer, and have
pretty much been having a grand summer!
The trip didn't go quite as planned, but we didn't die (not even Bertha!)
I am settling in to work-at-home life and right now enjoying watching
the Olympics. Keeping the blog updated for the most part, and Twiting
